The New Computer and Printer

The previous post is the first one on our new laptop computer. We originally bought it on February 9. However, after we bought it, we discovered that it wasn't very good with consistently connecting to the Internet (Wirelessly, of course). We learned that this particular computer is prone to have this problem. On Monday, we tried returning it to the store where we bought it (A different branch was involved. I won't reveal the store to avoid embarrassment.) Of course, the clerk was able to get into the Internet to work on the computer. As a result, we would have been charged a restocking fee to return it. It was exchanged instead. It is working okay. There is still a learning curve, but it is slowly straightening.

Speaking of a learning curve, Bob installed the new printer-copier-scanner today (Also bought on February 9). I haven 't used it yet, so I can't evaluate it at this time. Hopefully, there will be pictures on this blog, as soon as I learn how to do it.

The old computer still gets you into the Internet. I will still be using it for word processing, as I am still a floppy disk user. I'll have to do my work using the on-screen keyboard because the keyboard stopped functioning after a botched antivirus trial installation attempt. The media players stopped functioning at this time, too. Months earlier, the disk drives stopped working after a couple of bad media related installations. A game demo download and a George Jones box set (I didn't pay attention to see if there was a warning about playing it in a computer, as I didn't expect a "permanent end" to playing CDs or DVDs in the computer. (For the record, there is a warning for Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run: 30th Anniversary Edition CD/DVD set.) Installing a DVD Burner drive did not work, by the way.) are also potential causes for this problem. The old computer is bound for the basement tonight. There will be more details soon.

It's so good to be reporting to you again.
