We Will Miss You, Mrs. Sweeney

On Sunday, we lost Dan Sr.'s Mom at the age of 90. She had a nice wake in Kent. OH on Tuesday. On Wednesday, she had a very nice funeral at the Kent State University Newman Center. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice meal at the Newman Center hall. I did not attend the burial in Chardon, OH, but despite the cold and rainy conditions, it was appropriate for a lady that we will all miss. It is unfortunate that Dan Jr. and Laura's forthcoming daughter won't have the privilege of knowing her (It will be a girl, unless something out of the ordinary occurs.). We will know more details in about two months.

In general, it was good to see my nephews and niece that I don't see often enough. I also enjoyed seeing Dan Sr.'s brothers and sister and most of their spouses. Most of the grandchildren were in attendance. Next time, I'll see many of the Sweeney family members will be at Amy's wedding in about three months. However, it won't be the same without Mrs. Sweeney. She will be present in spirit, as will my parents and brother (And many other relatives who are missed everyday). Let's hope that we have more joy than sorrow in the future.
