Hayden's Birthday Party and Easter

We celebrated Hayden's birthday at her paternal grandparents in Medina, OH. The weather was pleasant although it was a little bit windy. Since Hayden really doesn't walk yet, she was either held by somebody, or she sat in a high chair (for the baby cake provided by Giant Eagle). She enjoyed the cake, unlike her sister, Kendal, who wanted nothing to do with the cake at her first birthday party (This was almost two years ago which was about two months before this blog made its first appearance.) The food was appetizing. (Check my posts from May 2008 for more details as the food was about the same. Familiarity can work. Just ask McDonald's. By the way, I haven't had any food from there in months. I'll have to make a visit someday.) The cake was pleasant. I left before the presents were opened, (if they were even opened at the party) but Mandy bought Kendal a princess costume that I am sure will show up on the Kendal-Hayden blog eventually. It was "precious". Kendal loves to be a star. She'll have another chance at her birthday party in a few months. I can't wait!

On Easter Sunday, we celebrated at Mike and Maggie's house in Parma, OH. We had sweet and sour meatballs, prime rib, spicy (not Thai) chicken, baked beans with "Italian" Sausage, baked potatoes, corn, salad, strawberry daiquiri Jello, bread (Nut and Italian or sourdough loaf), cakes (Cheese and ones from the box or Maggie), seven layer cookies, (If you want the recipe, I'll get it from Maggie) and nut and poppy seed rolls, and soft pretzels. The food was very appetizing. The participants besides me and the hosts were Kathleen, Joe, Bob, Mandy, and Paul. We spoke to Patty via telephone. It was a nice quiet affair. Maybe a few kids from Hayden's party would have made it more memorable (or not). The next function is Amy and David's wedding. That will probably be my next major story.
